Gayan Abeynayake attended the IEEE International Conference on Industrial & Information Systems (IEEE stands for Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers).
He presented his paper A Review on MVdc Collection Systems for High Power Offshore Wind Farms, which investigates the present and future perspective of this emerging technology. Some ideas presented in the paper originated from discussions he had during his DTU Wind Energy secondment. The conference was organised by his Bachelor & Master’s university, the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. So it was a great opportunity for him to meet his former lecturers, and discuss his research and InnoDC. He chatted to undergraduates and provided guidance on searching for overseas PhD opportunities. He then enjoyed the Sri Lankan cultural dance during the banquet.
