He met PhD students, professors and industry experts, mainly from China and Australia. He had extensive discussions about Australian wind integration with Prof Tapan Saha of the University of Queensland, and was interested to learn about Australia’s stronger focus on Solar PV development and battery storage.
Gayan found the technical visit to Sichuan Chengdian Dawei Science & Technology Co Ltd particularly useful. He watched a demonstration of a real-time energy trading platform using blockchain concept, still in its research stage. He then enjoyed Chinese hot-pot and a trip to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding!
