2019 Oct – Wind Integration, Dublin

The 18th Wind Integration Workshop in Dublin is the international science-to-industry exchange platform with a unique focus on grid integration.

Jovana Dakic was pleased to present in poster form her conference papers, one as main author, and another as co-author with Christoph Kaufmann. Click on the paper titles to read them:

Optimal sizing and location of reactive power compensation in offshore HVAC transmission systems for loss minimization.
Multi-objective optimization of cable sizes of an offshore wind power plant collector system.

She attended a study trip to EirGrid’s control room (transmission system operator (TSO) in Ireland and Northern Ireland). Staff from its innovation team presented the challenges faced by EirGrid due to renewables integration and to Ireland being an island. Conference participants were from industry and universities around the world, so it was very useful in bringing together different perspectives from researchers, manufacturers and system operators.
