2019 March – Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, England

Peng Yang visited Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, Britain’s fusion research laboratory.  He learnt that if you put a doughnut into a fusion reactor, it can generate huge power!  When running at maximum capacity, Culhum’s Joint European Torus (Jet) reactor is the hottest place in the solar system. Read about nuclear fusion here.

InnoDC later organised a visit to the fusion energy project, ITER, in France. Unfortunately, it was postponed due to the pandemic, so ITER arranged in the meantime, an in-depth virtual presentation and tour. Watch it here.
