Anubhav Jain attended the European Energy Research Alliance DeepWind 2021 digital conference. The event covered numerous useful topics, such as energy transition perspectives, wind farm optimisation & control, new turbine & generator technology and operation & maintenance. Anubhav learnt about floating wind turbines, grid forming converters, virtual inertial frequency support from wind turbines, economic effects of upscaling offshore wind, wake modelling for wind farm load prediction, corrosion monitoring of steel structures, lifetime extension and layout optimisation – to name a few!
He presented his work ‘Virtual Resistor for Sequential Greenstart of Wind Turbine and Offshore Network’ as part of the Grid Connection & Power System Integration session. He received valuable feedback, which helped him improve the results for a journal paper submission. Watch his presentation below.
