Cardiff University hosted Emily Maggioli on secondment between September and November 2019, during which she worked on her research topic under Prof Jun Liang’s supervision.
She joined meetings organised by the Centre for Integrated Renewable Energy Generation & Supply (CIREGS), where she presented her work and learnt about others’ specialities. She was pleased to meet researchers from previous Marie Curie projects, and to attend the visiting scientist lecture by GE Consulting Engineer, Carl Barker, on power electronics and HVDC.
During her stay, she successfully ran the Cardiff half marathon and raised money for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC).
