During summer 2019, Peng Yang conducted his secondment at China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), Beijing. CEPRI has developed the world leading simulation platform for modelling power systems and power electronics, Advanced Digital Power System Simulator (ADPSS). So he was fortunate to learn ADPSS and build silicon carbide (SiC) diodes and SiC MOSFETs, and collaborate with CEPRI’s Dr Qing Mu and Dr Yalou Li.
He shared his research with supervisors and other PhD students, and attended seminars, such as Prof Timothy Green’s lesson on Power Electronics at Tsinghua University. In addition, he attended the 2019 Asian PhD School on Advanced Power Electronics at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He was later honoured to take part in Tsinghua University‘s graduation ceremony, where he had received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
