In November 2020, Stephen Hardy provided an hour-long seminar on his research on combinatorial optimisation as part of a lecture series organised by KU Leuven‘s electrical engineering department, geared at cultivating cross-disciplinary collaboration among researchers.
Academics and industry experts, all within the Belgian research initiative, Energyville, came together virtually to attend the event. Their specialities included energy markets and strategies, electrical and thermal storage, power control and conversion, electrical and thermal networks, buildings and districts, and photovoltaics. Stephen presented on the application of combinatorial optimisation in offshore wind transmission topology design, followed by questions and answers. Watch his presentation below.
